This make-up remover from the Body Shop and I have a complicated relationship. It all started when I asked the heavily powdered sales rep for a remover that wouldn’t burn or sting my eyes. She pointed me to this and I was excited to try it. It’s a cream formula with no scent.
I put a tiny drop of this on my cotton ball and pressed it gently to my eye. I instantly felt a tingling sensation, but persevered – only to find that my eye had swollen considerably and had turned bright crimson. It stung, it burned, it pulsated! Eeek! It continued to do so for three days! Three days where I couldn’t touch my eyes and it burned to blink, it also meant that my makeup stayed put.
After reading reviews where people loved it, I decided to give it another try after a couple of months. It worked! It became the only one I used for quite a while. No puffiness, no redness, no swelling. It worked quite effectively for eyeshadow, but not mascara. I found I had to load up q-tips and aim them directly at the lashline in order to clean the lashes.
Let’s get to the numbers!
