It seems everyone is going gaga over Urban Decay’s new book of shadows, the Alice in Wonderland palette. Personally I’m not interested in it. Sure, it’s pretty, it has a nice popup feature with mushrooms and whatnot, but I was never a huge fan of Alice in Wonderland anyway, and seeing as how all the shades are repromotes, I can pass.
I counted which colors I had that were part of the palette, and it turns out I own 10 of 16, between the Book of Shadows II and the Ammo palette. Not bad!
I decided to do a look with these shades for all those who are interested in the palette could see how they work. Notice on the longer picture all the glittery fallout. I should also show you a picture of my now-sparkly pants, but I won’t.
With these shades being so overly sparkly and glittery, I feel it’s very important to mix your finishes. I used a matte brow highlight, a matte green on the brow bone and matte underneath the lower lashline, and I still feel it’s just a bit too sparkly. Each to her own!
